Final Statement: Notebooks is a great application that I would recommend to anyone, and I actually already have. It is the first application that I have found that does exactly what I need it to, and does it well. It's unfortunate but I have learned to expect to be disappointed when I download a new app. I didn't have that feeling after opening Notebooks.

Notebooks for the iPhone from Alfons Schmid

NEWS RELEASE

SALZBURG, AUSTRIA — Alfons Schmid is pleased to announce the release of Notebooks for the iPhone, a flexible, compact and stylish replacement for traditional note taking systems. Notebooks is there for those who want to keep information close at hand rather than stored on a computer, for those who like to write down their thoughts and ideas wherever they are, and for those who prefer to have one place rather than many to put and keep their information.

Notebooks concentrates on providing an efficient and inspiring environment. It supports full-screen and landscape modes, both important for delivering the best writing and reading experience by maximizing screen space on the iPhone.

Gestures are available for flipping back and forth between notes, bringing back a touch of the traditional notebook.

Notes may be structured in arbitrarily nested “books” (hence Notebooks), which supports the idea of keeping separate books for separate things: business topics, travel journals, diaries, reminders or todos all reside in separate books and are still in one place.

Notes may be easily reorganized, and moving a note to a different book never requires more than two taps.

Using Bonjour technology, Notebooks imports text documents from a computer with no configuration needed. Notebooks also provides convenient functions for emailing either a single note or all notes in a book.

Notebooks is not only here to provide a virtual piece of paper or a temporary storage for texts and ideas, it is actually meant to be a place to store and keep documents that always need to be at arm’s length.

Notebooks is available at the iTunes AppStore for $3.99
