iSticky Sticks With the Facts – iPhone Apps | AppCraver

Visually iSticky is a gem. It has a clutter-free crisp white background. And there are five pastel colored stickies to choose from when making your notes. iSticky is definitely pretty darn easy to use. Functionally, you may drag and drop the notes all over the display anywhere you like. And, even with a lot of information on my stickies, iSticky feels fairly stable.

ActiveNotes Has Some Unique Features but It’s Nothing Special – iPhone Apps | AppCraver

There are almost as many note-taking apps in the App Store as there are fart apps. So, when a new note taker comes along, it has to be really special to stand out, and I don’t mean in a stinky way. ActiveNotes, from morbiuslabs, has a couple of features other note takers don’t have, but it’s still nothing special.

Easy Note Taking On iPhone with Simplenote | Apple iPhone App Reviews | iFones.com

Filed under: simplenote — Tags: — sync @ 5:10 pm

Simplenote, a new app for the iPhone, is like having a notepad in your pocket.  A very simple, one goal oriented app, take notes.  It works exactly like it should with only two buttons, one to delete your note and one to save it.

Simplenote also has a search function in case your notes queue is overflowing with reminders.  The app takes a little time to get acquainted with. Start the app up and you are presented with a blank page and a QWERTY keyboard.  The keys are small but with the use of a stylus that is easily overcome.  Tapping on the screen in certain places doesn’t do what you would expect such as when creating a new note, tapping a blank area below your list of notes that have already been made do not allow you to start something new. Instead, you type your title into the search bar and press ‘return.’ The result is a new note with a big, fresh page for typing.  You can use the search bar to find previous notes by just beginning to type, the most relevant search results appear, listing the most recently saved notes first.  There are not a lot of fancy options in this app, but it does what it’s designed to do.

You might be tempted to just throw together a quick message with an App Store URL and a promo code and shoot that off to the major tech sites. Speaking as someone whose inbox is regularly flooded with haphazard announcements, let me suggest a few points about crafting that e-mail. Here are six ways you can better promote your application.

AppVee – Daily iPhone apps and games video reviews! – Reviews

Filed under: reviews — sync @ 4:39 pm

AppVee is a mobile obsessed, San Francisco based company. Seeing the explosive potential of mobile platforms in the recent years, we knew that we had a revolution on our hands. At present, we have two divisions:

AppVee.com is our iPhone obsessed arm. The iPhone has single-handedly changed the way we think about mobile computing. With this explosion, though, comes a tidal wave of developers and applications.

With nearly 6,000 iPhone applications released just months after the launch of the iPhone(tm) App Store, it is getting nearly impossible to keep up. Should I spend money on this app? Is that app even worth downloading? How do I find must-have applications when hundreds are released every week? Its a frustrating experience, with no easy solution until now.

AppVee.com is the largest and most extensive resource for professional, high-quality video reviews of iPhone applications. Every newly released app is evaluated against a number of criteria: Is it worth downloading? Is it worth buying? Is it just another clone? Will iPhone users have any interest in it? If the application is worthwhile, AppVee iPhone Apps goes to work developing a comprehensive video review, a written review, posting screenshots, providing additional app information and opening up user reviews. We bring you reviews every day of the week, 365 days a year.

Take A Note – Review | whatsoniphone.com

In all, Take A Note is well-designed and well executed. It is easy to use, stable, and while this initial release is limited with regard to the formatting of text, it is an excellent first attempt that will only improve with time and updates.

So is this my new note taking application for my iPhone and my iPod touch? Probably not.

Not because it isn't an excellent application, it is.

Not because it isn't a stable application — it is.

And not because it isn't a powerful notetaking application – it is.

No, Take A Note won't be my new notetaking application because my heart belongs to Evernote.

There are, however, many situations in which Evernote is the absolute wrong application and this is the right choice. For example — if you are hyper-vigilant about security and don't want your notes to be shared  across a third-party server (even if that server has a high degree of encryption and security),  this is a far better choice. If you want your documents to be shared directly between your iPhone or iPod touch and your desktop — this is a far better choice. If you want an application with a low one-time cost and no residual expense — this is the right application for you. (Evernote does offer a free version but the desirable premium services only come  with an annual subscription.)
